well i did a quick search online and found a couple of examples, obviously an ammo hopper for the 30.cal, used on when mounted on a vehicle (easier than manually belt feeding it I guess)

not a ww2 authentic pic i know but its the best one i could find that didnt have some weird tubing. :? am I right?
